The ten thousand step system is founded on the idea that walking ten thousand steps every day can help you get healthy-that it helps cut down on the amount of time you have to spend at the gym. Walking is a great, low impact, workout. How often have you over heard a physician say "just a single walk around the block helps your health"?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Obviously, getting in ten thousand steps each day is going to be challenging. That's a whole lot! Thankfully, you're probably taking lots of steps every single day and just don't know it. All you need to do is learn how to add in a couple or few thousand extra steps to succeed in this goal. So how can you do that without feeling like you're spending the entire day walking about?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Increasing the step count can be done easily using these obvious methods. One classic example of this can be climbing the stairs instead of taking an elevator or escalator. Parking at the far end in the parking lot is additionally advisable at the mall or the store. You may also simply run all of your purchases out to the car or truck once you buy them instead of carting them around from store to store as you shop and take care of your errands. Using public transportation is great for increasing your step count since you have to walk to the bus stop and back instead of just to and from the car. Obviously, just getting a short walk each day is also recommended.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You could also increase the volume of steps you take by using some less than obvious methods. Order your current shopping list in another way. Plenty of individuals organize lists by the aisles in their preferred stores. Organize your list in groups including dairy, meat, produce, snacks, etc. Then get every item in the order that it is shown on your list. You might find yourself making a number of trips back and forth across the store, but it is a great way to raise your step count. Put your mail box on a post along at the curb as an alternative to on your door or in your wall. Even worse than that was the names that I was always forgetting. This problem was starting to be a source of embarrassment and was probably losing me business to boot. In fact it was really about learning a few memory tips and techniques so that I would remember all those things that I had been forgetting. What is often called "The Law of Attraction", because we attract what we think about, can change out lives. So I changed my negative self talk about how bad my memory and replaced it with a positive thought pattern about my memory getting better every day.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.75em; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; "&gt;This one factor of better expectations made memorizing peoples names much easier. That is because is most names we forget are actually names that we never where are aware of when we heard them the first time. So by simply becoming aware and using visualization techniques I was able to vastly improve my memory. In my mind Dr Eades is the smartest doctor advocate of low carb eating. In fact the only problem someone might have with the book I am reading is there is too much information. So if you are looking for a simple explanation of his plan you have to wade through over 200 pages to get there.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;So what are the differences between protein power and Atkins?&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;First Dr Eades does believe that in order to lose weight calories should be reduced. He also stipulates the amount of protein one should eat to be healthy per meal as well as the amounts of ECC ( which seems to be like net carbs ) per meal.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;So far I like Protein Power more than Atkins. My worst diet trigger has been eating foods with sugar in them. So now I am eating very basic proteins and vegetables and the weight is dropping off pretty quickly.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;What is even better than losing weight is losing cravings. It feels like someone gave me back my sanity. I eat at meals and pretty much nothing in between. When I am psyched and in the low carb zone ( perhaps Ketosis ) my cravings are usually few and far between. So the best thing I can do is keep my eyes and nose away from temptation by eating alone. Far too often observing someone else eating too much gives me a relative license to cheat. It goes kind of like this, "Heck I am not eating half as much as they are !". Totally forgetting that my scale does not give a flying leap the next morning that I ate less than person X.
